Outcomes – Rawhide Success Rate
Rawhide Success Rate
A study done by Dr. Frank Cummings, a Clinical Psychologist, documented Rawhide success rate at 73% for producing sustained positive outcomes in the lives of court-referred youth six months after discharge. The tool used was the Youth Outcomes Questionnaire (Y-OQ), which measures a wide range of behaviors, situations, moods, and interpersonal relations which commonly apply to troubled teenagers.
This rate mirrored a study conducted earlier by the Department of Corrections, which demonstrated that Rawhide achieved a 77% success rate in helping boys become responsible members of their communities through no further incarceration.
And, 83% of youth placed by the Department of Children and Families have improved permanency after experiencing Rawhide’s unique family-centered environment.
Rawhide Program Evaluations
Upon discharge from Rawhide, each student’s social worker or placing agent receives a Program Evaluation Form. Feedback and comments from these forms help us to improve our programs, as well as provide the youth and family with quality service. Below is an overview of how social services professionals view Rawhide programs and services.
