About Face Service Corps

About Face is a success driven, intensive, family-centered program for young men who are voluntarily placed by a parent or guardian. 90 or 120 day programs are designed to help students build character, mind, and body while experiencing the satisfaction of giving back through regular community service projects.

It is a military-style residential program with an emphasis on behavioral change with involvement in community service projects. High standards are set for youth, challenging them to continually improve.

Your son would go through a two-week rotation of attending school at Starr Academy, Rawhide’s on-campus private school, and then helping with a number of community service projects. Physical training is also part of their daily routine.

Short-term, Military Style Residential Program

Young men involved in the About Face Service Corps learn about moral values, integrity, honor, courage, self-discipline, hard work, loyalty and selfless service to others.

  • Community Service Work – Students learn the joy of serving others by helping low income families and non-profit organizations including Habitat for Humanity, homeless shelters, food pantries, local park and recreation projects, and disaster relief. Young men serve local Wisconsin communities four days each week.
  • Physical Training – Students participate in an early morning physical conditioning routine designed to promote strength, flexibility, and physical well-being.
  • Counseling – Young men work with a certified social worker/therapist who provides individual, group, and family counseling, and emphasizes successful transition back into the home communities.
  • Academics – Students work on improving their basic academic levels in English, math, reading, science, and social studies.
  • Moral and Religious Training – Students can voluntarily participate in biblical studies and attend a community church that teach moral values through daily study and meditation.
