Ministry Retreat at Shalom House
The demands of ministry are oftentimes endless. Shalom House exists as a place for God’s servants to experience His all-encompassing peace. If you’re a pastor or missionary, we welcome you to come away to Shalom House for rest and relaxation.
NOTE: Shalom House is NOT a rental property. We take it very seriously to honor the intent and purpose of God graciously providing Shalom House as a ministry retreat.
Our 3-acre wooded lot offers a peaceful setting. Soak in the hot tub or Jacuzzi, swim in the indoor pool, relax by the fireplace with a good book, or take a long nap. A variety of amenities are available for you to enjoy as you unwind.
In the midst of the demands of His ministry, Jesus was intentional by spending time with His Father for renewal and refreshment. You’re welcome to take this opportunity to refresh your soul at Shalom House by engaging with the Father through focused times of prayer, of worship, and of meditating on God’s Word.
What to Expect at this Ministry Retreat

Shalom House Administrators
Vaughn and Maralee Groen, Administrators of Shalom House, serve as hosts and manage the operations. You might say they keep the home fires burning for guests to ensure you’re comfortable and you have what you need.
Prior to coming to Shalom House in 2006, Vaughn and Maralee served in various capacities in Christian organizations and churches, primarily in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from where they relocated to come to Wisconsin. Their desire is to serve those who come to Shalom House by pampering them and by helping them feel comfortable. It’s important to them to provide an environment where guests are able to connect with each other, and most importantly with God. Their greatest joy is for guests to be rested, renewed, and ready to return to their area of ministry.
