Private Residential Program

The Academy Program is designed for troubled teen boys who are currently not in the court system or "on papers." This program is very similar to our Standard Residential Program. The main difference is that they will be in a household with other at-risk teens, as encouraged by their families, who have voluntarily placed themselves in this setting.

The Private Residential Program gives at-risk young men a chance to voluntarily choose a new direction in life. Young men live in a family setting on the Rawhide campus full-time and attend school at Starr Academy. Weekends are reserved for recreational time, homework, family visits, and community service opportunities.

Cost and Placement

The cost of placing a young man in this program is not subsidized by the counties or the state and must be paid for by the parents or guardians. Tuition assistance may be available based on individual family circumstances.

There are a limited number of openings available. Please refer prospective families to the Just For Parents section and have them complete an admissions application.
