Transition and Alumni Services |
 | Lifetime Commitment | | "Once a Rawhide guy ... always a Rawhide guy" is our motto. Rawhide's promise of a lifetime commitment was a major factor in the development of the Transition and Alumni Program in 1996. We provide assistance to any Rawhide alumni who has gone through one of our programs when they need help. This is available whether they have been through the program for four months or forty years.
The primary goal of the program is to equip students to develop a support network for the purpose of strengthening family ties, developing appropriate peer relationships, securing gainful employment, applying wisdom in education/career choices and encourage Christian growth. It is also a resource for alumni to call for encouragement and assistance in finding outside resources to meet their needs in a crisis. |

 | Beginning Transition | | Beginning shortly after a student's arrival at Rawhide, an aftercare plan is assembled based on the student's personal, family, and community needs. The plan is to be followed by the young man throughout his stay at Rawhide and on every home visit so he can begin developing a new life for himself at home as his life changes at Rawhide.
We provide assistance to help them transition back into their community of origin or the community they are being placed in. Transition services basically give them a jump start to building postive relationships with the following resources: |
|
 |
- Potential employers
- Counseling
- Churches & youth groups
- Volunteer opportunities
- Families and relationships
- Educational opportunities

 | Financial Assistance Available for Alumni | | | Rawhide is able to provide financial assistance to alumni to help pay for tuition, books, room & board, transportation, medical bills or other emergency needs. Financial assistance will depend on the alumni's circumstances and the amount of funds available at the time. |
