Rawhide often receives requests from various communities and organizations throughout the state to provide assistance on projects, such as volunteering for color guard at a special event, disaster assistance and relief, clearing trails, painting churches or bridges, repairing roofs, helping to build a home, or hauling wood for needy families.
These service opportunities allow your son make a connection with the community in a constructive way, helping them give back to others, and giving them a positive relationship building experience. |

Carefully chosen community service projects allow cadets to work closely with field trainers to learn valuable job skills, pay restitution, and build self-esteem. Youth experts have long believed that the act of serving others can build confidence, a sense of responsibility, and social connectedness that is beneficial both to the young volunteer and the larger community. A recent study confirmed that youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who volunteer demonstrated more positive civic attitudes and behaviors than youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who didn't. |
