Outcomes

Successful Results

A study done by Dr. Frank Cummings, a Clinical Psychologist, released in January of 2003, documented a 73% success rate for Rawhide producing sustained positive outcomes in the lives of court-referred youth six months after discharge.

The tool used was the Youth Outcomes Questionnaire (Y-OQ), which measures a wide range of behaviors, situations, moods and interpersonal relations which commonly apply to troubled teenagers. This rate mirrored a study conducted earlier by the Department of Corrections which demonstrated that Rawhide Boys Ranch achieved a 77% success rate in helping boys become responsible members of their community through no further incarceration.

Rawhide Program Evaluations

Upon discharge from Rawhide, each student's social worker or placing agent receives a Program Evaluation Form. Feebback and comments from these forms help us to improve our programs and provide children and families with high quality service.
