Student of the Month - September 2009 |
Hope | My name is Jordan, and I am 15 years old. I’m from Marinette County and have been at Rawhide for about three months. My favorite hobbies are snowmobiling, weightlifting, playing basketball, and jogging. I hope to attend college after high school for a career in mechanics or real estate. Then I plan to obtain a good job so I can support my family. My goal in life is to try my best, and if I don’t always succeed at least there was an effort.
I really enjoy working on the job-training sites with the About Face job trainers. All of the job trainers are really fun guys, but there is a time to be serious, and that’s at the work site. They explain and demonstrate the way you should work when you have a task. On the work site, Captain Guerin has shown me that you have to be respectful and have a good attitude for the person you are working for.
The most important factor to my success at Rawhide was a desire to change my life. I have held high ranks within the About Face program as a corporal and sergeant. The success at Rawhide is in part to Captain Guerin and a special person, Mr. Gary, a Resident Instructor, in the Smith Home (where I live at Rawhide). He is the one who helped me get to know the Lord better. My relationship is getting better with God because I want to learn more about Him in my life. There’s always HOPE for everyone.
