Student of the Month - January 2008 |
The Future |  My name is Richard and I am 16 years old. My home is in Dane County, but I was born in Cook County, Illinois. I have been at Rawhide for 5½ months. The things that I enjoy most are beating a rhythm on the tables and playing basketball. Watching the Packers and the Bears play on Sunday is a lot of fun. I also like joking around with my houseparents Pat and Roger and all the living unit staff.
I really enjoy working in the Café Work Experience Program. Jeff and Lori have taught me about cooking, cleaning, and how to be patient with people. School has become enjoyable for me because of the academic instructors. Terri helps me with English. Coach Andy teaches me about history and Natalie helps me to read better. Scott and Steve help me to improve my math skills.
I look forward to returning home and helping my family as well as going to college to get a degree in teaching. My goal is to get married and have two children. Growing in Christ and to be closer to Him more than ever before is my desire.
