Student of the Month - August 2011 |
A New Way of Life |  My name is Anton and I am 17 years old. I have been at Rawhide for six months. My favorite things to do are play basketball, lift weights, running, and riding my bike. My favorite class is math with Mr. Wilson. He challenges me and helps me work through things even when I’m getting stubborn!
When I leave Rawhide, I want to get my high school diploma. After graduation, I would like to continue my education in the area of auto and/or diesel mechanics. I have been working on cars in the work experience program at Rawhide and have learned a lot and enjoy that type of work.
While at Rawhide, I have participated in “Building Spiritual Muscle” with a mentor. He spent time with me learning what it is to be a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. I want to continue learning and growing with God after I leave Rawhide.
I hope my future also includes getting married and having children. I want to be a great dad because it is important for children to have an involved father. The kind of dad that will be there to teach and encourage his children. I know that I need to have Christ in my life, as well as a good job to provide for my family and set a good example for my children.
I thank my family for encouraging me and loving me while I have been at Rawhide. I thank God that he loves me always and helps me through hard times.
