Student of the Month - April 2008 |
Future Generations |  My name is Dominique and I am 17 years old. I am from Racine County and have been at Rawhide for five months. My favorite things to do are reading, listening to music, and shopping.
I want to thank all of the staff and guys who encouraged me to do things I never thought I would or could do while living here, in what seems like the middle of nowhere. I really enjoy all the staff and guys at Rawhide. John, Greg, Soua, and Sam, from the Aylward youth home, have made a positive impact on me. All of the teachers and house staff here have been great, and you can really tell they care.
I hope to go into the Army after high school, then on to college to study computers and law. One of my personal goals is to bring a new level of education to my family by completing school. I want this not only for myself, but to set an example for future family generations. I want to show them that one mistake in your life doesn’t end it. You should strive for everything the world has to offer. Do not let obstacles get in your way and you will succeed in life. Know that the more hurdles you overcome, the stronger you will be.
I want to thank everyone for teaching me ways to develop further in so many areas of my life!
