Rawhide's Equestrian Center |
 Rawhide's equestrian center is comprised of many buildings including an indoor riding arena, a small animal barn, stables and more. Many generous donors have come together to make the equestrian center a beautiful and functional part of the ranch.
Opened in 2001, the Searl Stable was funded by a major gift from Kathleen Searl of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, along with gifts from over 800 individuals and businesses. These donations came after a fire destroyed the original barn, and four horses, on Christmas Eve of 1999.
The Sara Lee Small Animal Barn was built in 1997. All of the construction was done by the staff and young men at Rawhide; the project was funded by the Sara Lee Corporation of New London, Wisconsin. Fencing and animal yards were donated by Rawhide alumnus Roger Davenport and his wife, Betty.
Rawhide's barns and stables are also part of the Work Experience Program on the ranch. Young men can hold a job in the stable where they gain valuable work experience as well as learning basic animal care and maintenance.  The Sheldon Equestrian Center, funded by Mike and Cindy Sheldon of Antigo, Wisconsin, opened in 2001. The facility includes an indoor riding arena used to conduct equine therapy sessions with the youth at Rawhide.
Rawhide's Equine Assisted Program (REAP) pairs horses with youth and their counselors in an effort to work through behavioral and emotional issues. Equine therapy sessions focus on areas like relationship building, boundaries, anger management, and substance abuse.
