Bart and Cherry Starr Join Rawhide in Announcing New Outpatient Counseling Clinic in Milwaukee |
Rawhide, a licensed residential care center and outpatient counseling clinic for troubled youth and their families announces the opening of its newest location in Milwaukee. This special announcement is scheduled for Saturday, November 6, at 8:30 a.m. at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. Former Green Bay Packer and NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback Bart Starr and his wife Cherry will join John Solberg, Rawhide Executive Director and Mike Rintelman, Milwaukee Lead Outpatient Therapist in announcing this initiative for youth and their families in the Milwaukee area.
“The Rawhide Youth and Family Outpatient Counseling Clinic in Milwaukee will provide youth and their families access to 45 years of knowledge in producing successful outcomes in teen and family issues,” stated John Solberg, Rawhide Executive Director. “Over the past five decades youth have come to Rawhide Boys Ranch to receive services, now we can take this expertise and extend it to individual communities. We are excited that Milwaukee will be the fourth community in the state in which we offer these services,” continued Solberg.
Mike Rintelman, Lead Outpatient Therapist for the Milwaukee office is uniquely prepared for this new initiative. He brings many years of experience in counseling youth and families to the position. “I’m eager to extend the reach of Rawhide services to influence change in the lives of youth and their families in the Milwaukee area,” stated Rintelman.
According to the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare, there are not enough qualified behavioral and mental health providers in Milwaukee for the number of children in need of treatment. Rawhide is pleased to offer a solution to underserved and disadvantaged youth.
“Communities all over the state are seeking affordable prevention programs to help troubled youth and families,” stated Solberg. “Rawhide recognizes the need for prevention care to hopefully reduce the need for more serious intervention, such as out-of-home placement.”
Rawhide is very thankful for the financial gifts received from the Nicholas Family Foundation, The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, and the Baird Foundation, Inc. Their support made this clinic in Milwaukee possible. We have a strong commitment to provide the highest return on investment by providing consistent, high quality counseling that leads to realistic and achievable outcomes. Our therapists are able to address a variety of behavioral and mental health issues that affect youth and their families, such as: depression, anxiety, abuse, and anger issues.
Rawhide is committed to having exceptional services for youth throughout the state of Wisconsin. Outpatient counseling is viewed as an extension of a Rawhide continuum of care that already includes long and short term residential care, group home care and licensed treatment foster care for court-referred and at-risk boys. In addition to the Milwaukee office, located at 6045 N. Green Bay Road, Rawhide has clinic locations in Green Bay, Appleton, and New London, Wisconsin. “Our hope is that any youth with behavioral issues and their families will be able to access the rich history and knowledge of Rawhide, producing sustained, positive change,” added Solberg.
Located outside of New London, Wisconsin, Rawhide Boys Ranch is a faith-based residential alternative to juvenile corrections for court-referred and at-risk young men. In addition, Rawhide is pleased to provide services to youth and their families through community-based programs, such as outpatient counseling.
