Packer Foundation Awards Grant to Rawhide |
 | March 6,2007 | | Rawhide Boys Ranch was one of 61 civic and charitable groups statewide that received a 2007 grant from the Green Bay Packers foundation. Gary Rotherham, chairman of the foundation committee, announced the awards at a luncheon held at Lambeau Field for these groups. At the luncheon Packers President/COO John Jones stated, “The Packers Foundation is proud to award these grants today. These great organizations being recognized today perform wonderful work in our communities.”
The grant will be used to renovate the Cornerstone Group home on the Rawhide campus. This home provides a community-focused approach in teaching independent living skills to young men. Renovation was required to respond to licensing code and provide a quality environment for youth to live in while they learn to successfully transition to their community.
Located outside of New London, Wisconsin, Rawhide Boys Ranch emphasizes a faith-based traditional family environment and currently serves at-risk and court-referred young men. Their mission is to inspire and equip at-risk teenage boys to become responsible young men through family-centered care, treatment, and education. Rawhide is largely supported by donations of cars, boats, campers, and financial gifts. |
