Rawhide Youth Participate in Brett Favre Charity Softball Event

June 23, 2006

Brett and Deanna Favre with Rawhide YouthYoung men from Rawhide Boys Ranch played an active volunteer role in this year’s Brett Favre Celebrity Softball Game, held at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton on June 11. Proceeds from the game benefit the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation, whose mission is to provide aid to disadvantaged and disabled children who reside in Wisconsin or Mississippi. Over the past three years the foundation has donated proceeds from the game to benefit at-risk youth enrolled at Rawhide. These students are at risk of not graduating from high school and have committed offenses in their home communities.

Cadets from Rawhide’s About Face Community Service Corps provided a color guard presentation prior to the start of the game, while other Rawhide youth volunteered to distribute team rosters and provide security.

Located outside of New London, Wisconsin, Rawhide Boys Ranch emphasizes a faith-based traditional family environment and serves at-risk and court-referred young men. Their mission is to inspire and equip at-risk teenage boys to become responsible young men through family-centered care, treatment, and education. Rawhide is largely supported by donations of cars, boats, campers, and financial gifts. Learn more about Rawhide by calling (920) 982-6100 or visiting the website at www.rawhide.org.
