Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation Announces $130,000 Grant to Rawhide |
December 18, 2006 | The Board of Directors of the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation of Milwaukee has awarded a grant of $130,000 to Rawhide Boys Ranch in New London. The grant was made to complete two projects, the construction of a new website and a youth records database.
The website project will incorporate many updated features including providing parents of at-risk children access to resources and services. The database project will centralize all youth records and integrate residential, social service, and education data to produce key outcome results and improve efficiencies.
Since 1965 Rawhide Boys Ranch has worked with more than 2,000 young men from the Milwaukee area and throughout Wisconsin. These youth come from deprived environments where they lack positive structure and are suffering the consequences of poor choices they have made. Rawhide provides counseling, discipline, and academic and work skills training in a loving, supportive family environment.
“The Bradley Foundation recognized that every youth who experiences sustained positive behavior change is a benefit to the Wisconsin area,” stated John Solberg, Rawhide’s executive director. “We are very grateful for their generosity,” continued Solberg. "Rawhide Boys Ranch is a very important institution in our community and the Bradley Foundation is proud to support it," said Michael Grebe, the Foundation's president and CEO.
The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation is a private, Milwaukee-based grantmaking institution established in 1985, supporting programs and studies to improve the life of the community through increasing cultural and educational opportunities, economic development, and effective and humane social services.
Located outside of New London, Wisconsin, Rawhide Boys Ranch emphasizes a faith-based traditional family environment and currently serves at-risk and court-referred young men. Their mission is to inspire and equip at-risk teenage boys to become responsible young men through family-centered care, treatment, and education. Rawhide is largely supported by donations of cars, boats, campers, and financial gifts. Learn more about Rawhide by calling (920) 982-6100 or visiting the website at www.rawhide.org.
