The Darwin E. Smith Boys Home opened on Christmas 1993. The house, originally named the K-C House, was funded through a gift from the Kimberly-Clark Foundation. The President of Kimberly-Clark, Darwin E. Smith, was instrumental in the vision for this gift to Rawhide, and after his death the home was renamed in his honor.
Boys living in the Smith home are in the About Face Community Service Corps. They participate in a number of community service projects and attend school at Starr Academy.
