Gillespie Boys Home

Houseparent: Jon and Jenny Wannenmacher
Year opened: 2000
Capacity:       10 boys plus staff
Donated by:    Aylward Family Foundation

The Gillespie Home was donated by the Aylward Family Foundation and is named in honor of Rawhide's co-founders, John and Jan Gillespie.
The Gillespie Home is unique as the young men living here are a part of Rawhide's Academy Program and have been placed here voluntarily. This is the only program on the ranch that allows private placement, (without a court order), at this time.

The boys in the Gillespie House are generally at risk of not graduating from high school and/or entering the juvenile justice system. The primary goal of the Academy Program is to lead at-risk boys toward high school graduation and post-secondary education opportunities.
