Chris is the Director of IT Supply Chain at Oshkosh Truck Corporation. Prior to that, he was a senior manager and practice leader in Hitachi Consulting Industrial Sector Applications Group for 12 years. Chris also spent 10 years with IBM as an industrial sector systems specialist. He has focused his career in the manufacturing and information technology for 22 years.

While attending the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. His educational focus was Manufacturing Operations and Cost Accounting.

Chris has been involved in church planning, teaching, and feels privileged to be a part of God’s ministry here at Rawhide. He and his wife, Suzan, have two daughters and a son. Chris enjoys hunting, youth soccer, and history.

Bryan BlankfieldBryan Blankfield, Board Vice Chairman

Bryan Blankfield and his wife, Rebecca, have lived in Neenah for the past 14 years.  They have four grown boys and recently became grandparents.  Bryan retired in the fall of 2015 as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Oshkosh Corporation after serving there since 2002.  Prior to that, he was a corporate attorney in an international law firm in Chicago and served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Waste Management, Inc. in Houston, Texas.

Bryan is also a C.P.A. and earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa.  He received his law degree in 1987 from Northwestern University in Chicago.

Bryan and Rebecca attend Appleton Alliance Church, and both have been avid, passionate supporters of Rawhide and its mission since they moved to Wisconsin. Bryan is honored to serve on Rawhide’s Board.

Larry Carey is a native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and currently lives in Appleton, Wisconsin. He is the former president and owner of Dodge Country of Appleton, Inc., a five-star auto retail and service center. Dodge Country was the first dealer in Wisconsin to adopt ‘One Best Price.’

Larry is also the former president of WATDA (Wisconsin Auto & Truck Dealers Association) and is active in the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Northeastern Wisconsin.

Larry, his wife Deb, and their three children enjoy camping, skiing, and going on farm retreats. He and his family are members of the Appleton Alliance Church.

Clyde earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Augsburg College in 1969. Shortly after, he met Linda, who satisfied the spiritual vacuum in his life by introducing him to Jesus Christ on September 21, 1969. Linda and Clyde married on Valentine’s Day in 1970 and began working for Rawhide in March of 1970 where they assisted John and Jan Gillespie with many aspects of maintaining the daily needs of the youth at the ranch. Clyde assisted Gary Thompson in coordinating the summer camp program for youth. Due to lack of funding, Clyde was given a recommendation by Rawhide and began employment at the Winnebago County Department of Human Services in November 1971, where he continues to be employed as a Licensed Child Protection Social Worker.

Within this public agency, Clyde has served in a variety of Social Work positions that equip him to provide effective governance to the Rawhide program. He is experienced in working to reunite families after an out-of-home placement, resolving delinquent behavior of children and teens, providing juvenile intake services with law enforcement agencies within Winnebago County, and assessing the safety of children within their homes. Clyde has also served as the governing board secretary of Calvary Bible Church and currently serves in the Divorce Care ministry as a facilitator.

Clyde has also worked as a Group Home Coordinator for Winnebago County for several years, serving youth experiencing emotional and behavioral problems, AODA dependency, delinquency, abuse, and neglect.

Clyde and Linda have served in youth ministry with junior high and high school youth, taught Sunday school, and facilitated small groups in their home. They are active in church mission teams and have accompanied youth mission trips to Mexico, New York, Idaho, Colorado, Mississippi, and South Carolina. Linda is actively involved with their three sons and their families, as well as being a grandmother of nine.

SteveBenderSteve Bender, Board Member

An Oshkosh native, Steve resides with his wife Sandy in rural Wautoma, Wisconsin. Steve is an alumnus of Rawhide’s 1972 summer camp program, a 1974 graduate of Oshkosh North High School, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He is currently employed as a maintenance technician for the Livesey Company.

Steve and Sandy attend Grace United Methodist Church in Wautoma. They have been involved with fundraising for Rawhide’s youth scholarships since 2005. Steve wishes to set an example for other alumni of Rawhide and show them that they can make a difference for today’s young men.

In their leisure time, Steve and Sandy are active members of the Valley Vettes Corvette club of Appleton, Wisconsin and have served as officers and board members for that club. They enjoy spending time with their six children and ten grandchildren and also share their home with their Springer Spaniel “Libbey” and kitten “Zora.”

Steve brings extensive human resources knowledge to the Rawhide Board. He enjoyed a 10 year career at Kimberly Clark and has recently retired from Alta Resources. Steve is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with degrees in Business and Sociology.

He and his wife, Kim, have three sons, Zachary, Alex, and Phillip. Steve enjoys spending time at his sons’ athletic events, playing tennis, golfing, and windsurfing in his spare time. His family currently attends Christ the Rock Community Church in Appleton, Wisconsin. As a member of Rawhide’s Board of Directors, Steve feels that he gains as much from this ministry as he gives.

Sarah has been a resident of Appleton, Wisconsin, for 30 years and was an employee of Kimberly Clark for over 27 years.

She has a strong ability to work and interact well with others regardless of their background, and is committed to helping make our community a better place to live.

Her current community involvement includes: monthly volunteer hours with Appleton Police Department, Fox Cities Performing Arts, and ThedaCare-Hospice; weekly volunteer hours at Echoes and St. Vincent De Paul thrift stores. She also serves on the Appleton Police Intercultural Relations Advisory Committee (IRC) and Women’s Fund for the Fox Valley Region. Fox Valley Jail Ministries and the Salvation Army are other areas of Sarah’s involvement.

Along with her husband Larry, Sarah facilitates a Care Group in their home. They attend weekly Monday night Bible classes and use September Sunday school classes to introduce Third Grade children to the Bible.

Recent training includes: Bethel Bible Series and East Wisconsin Lay School of Ministry. Sarah has served as an Ambassador in Missions (AIM) in the Grand Cayman Islands and Rugby, England. She has also walked full and half Fox Cities Marathons.

Her son Carl, and his wife live in Boston, Massachusetts. He was recently inducted into his Appleton High School hall of fame. Sarah’s daughter Neva, and her husband, are teachers at inner-city schools in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They have two girls, whom Sarah adores. Both Carl and Neva have also obtained their masters degrees.

Marion was born and raised in Wausau, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin Madison where she earned her Bachelor of Science in American Institutions and Secondary Education. She earned a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education and Library Science from the University of Utah. She later returned to UW-Madison for an additional year of advanced work specializing in school libraries.

Marion was employed by the Neenah Joint School District as a middle school social studies teacher at Horace Mann Junior High and opened the Conant Junior High library. She served at five different elementary schools as a librarian and computer lab instructor. When Lakeview Elementary School was reopened, she re-established their library program. During this time she also served as the Neenah Joint School District Library Media Department Chair, before retiring in 2003. Marion has also held the position of Children’s and Adolescent Literature and School Library Management instructor for the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and East Texas State University. She also worked as a temporary employee in the Children’s Department at the Neenah Public Library.

Marion has earned several awards during her career. She received the “Neenah Special Services Teacher of the Year” award and was considered a “Herb Kohl Fellow”. The library at Lakeview Elementary School, was named the “National School Library of the Year” by the American Association of School Librarians. While she was serving as the school’s Library Media Specialist,

Marion is currently a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Neenah, Wisconsin and is serving on the Board of Evangelism. She has been a member of the Board of Education and has been a Sunday School Teacher and superintendent. She is also a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and has been the secretary. She and her husband have been members of an adult couples Bible Study group for 35 years. Marion retired in 2011 after serving seven and a half years as the Volunteer Library Media Specialist at New Hope Christian School in Neenah. During her time their she established the library and computer programs.

She is married to Ed, a retired science teacher. They have two sons: John and Paul (Kate). They also have one granddaughter, Elizabeth. Some of her hobbies and interests include travel (most recently Egypt, Israel, and Jordan), crafts, knitting, and reading. She is a member of the Y.T.F. Book Club and the Women’s Saturday Breakfast Book Club at her church.

John VicchiolloJohn Vicchiollo, Board Member

John Vicchiollo is the Director of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing at Bassett Mechanical. Prior to that, he was a Vice President at School Specialty Inc., for 28 years managing Procurement, Forecasting and Inventory Planning.

John is a quiet but passionate and thoughtful leader with a demonstrated ability to creatively adapt to new challenges and develop talent. He recognizes his accomplishments are the results of those who graciously work alongside him. He takes great care to foster those relationships creating an inclusive and collaborative work environment.

John and his wife, Germaine, have resided in Appleton for the past 30 years. They have three grown boys and a grandson who they adore.

John and Germaine attend Appleton Alliance Church where they have served in various ministries including High School and Adult small group leadership, marriage mentoring, mission trips and as kitchen service volunteers. They also enjoy serving each month at Appleton’s Homeless Connections.

John’s life mission is to humbly serve and to pass along the time and grace that others have invested in him throughout his life and career.

QuandtDave Quandt, Board Member

Dave has been a founding member of Neenah based Alta Resources since its inception in 1995, where he serves as Sr. Vice President of Alta’s Customer Care Business Unit. During his tenure, he has also served as Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Human Resources and Senior Vice President of Alta’s California Operations. A Six Sigma Green Belt, Dave also holds a BBA in marketing and an MBA with an emphasis in finance, both from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. He also serves on the Advisory Board of UW–Oshkosh’s School of Business.

Dave and his wife Pat have been married since 1989, are the proud parents of two, reside in Sherwood and attend Christ the Rock Community Church in Menasha.

Michael is the president of, a Christian humanitarian organization which provides relief, truth, and hope to those stricken by poverty, disease, and despair. He was the founding pastor of Pathways Church, in Appleton, Wisconsin, where he served for 15 years. Michael was also the Executive Director of a Residential Treatment Home for adjudicated boys for five years and was the co-host of “Radical Love,” a radio program geared towards helping parents deal with the issues of raising teenagers for six years. He founded I.C.A.R.E., a parent-led group that was actively engaged in curriculum review for both the Appleton and Kenosha School districts. He has written a drama, “Invade the Darkness,” which has been performed for over 100,000 people across the U.S. and Canada. Michael also owned and managed a local restaurant for several years. Mike has strong leadership experience and a heart for youth.

Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications at Trinity College as well as a Biblical Studies degree from Berean Bible College. He is also a licensed Church Consultant.

Mike and his wife, Terri, live in Greenville, Wisconsin. They have two grown children. Mike’s hobbies include racquetball, jet skiing and working in the yard.
