 You can donate your real estate or land to Rawhide as a gift, for which you may be able to take a tax deduction for the current fair market value of the property. In addition, personal or secondary residences may be gifted as a life estate, with the legal provision for the lifetime residency of you or other property owners, such as your spouse, mother, father, or child.
When setting up a life estate, ownership interest is transferred to Rawhide, Inc., and the donor may be entitled to an immediate tax deduction. The donor can choose to continue to reside in the home as long as they live, or convey the home at some time in the future.
Revenue generated from the sale of real estate donations helps us to provide quality education, counseling, and work experience training as well as food, clothing, and a loving family environment to at-risk young men. In some cases, Rawhide may choose to retain ownership of a piece of property to use as a retreat location for students and staff.
